There were 3 first cousins all named Martin Lindenberg. Two of them had children.

Martin and Helen Lindenberg raised their children, Eric and Robert, in Brooklyn, NY.

Martin and Irene Lindenberg raised their children, Karen and Barry, in Spring Valley, NY. One of Barry’s closest friends, in Spring Valley is Robert Lang.

Grandchildren’s names

Eric married Donna Mayblum and moved to Marlboro, NJ. Karen married Cary Alevy and moved to New City, NY. Robert married Andrea Simon and moved to Avon, CT. Barry married Robin Marshall and moved to Schenectady, NY. Note their children’s names.

Other than Matthew, none of the names were family names.

Not to be left out – After Rachel Sarah Lindenberg was born in 1992, we discovered that she had a 3rd cousin (on the Smith side of the family) in Atlanta born in 1991 named Sara Rachel Shaft.

It got even weirder when it was time for college.

Colleges

Alison Alevy went to University of Maryland. When Matthew Alevy went off to Cornell 2 years later, he discovered that his 2nd cousin Matthew Lindenberg was a sophomore there. When Daniel Lindenberg went off to Franklin and Marshall (a small liberal arts college in Lancaster, PA), he discovered that his cousin, Daniel Lindenberg was a junior there. That same year, Brian Lindenberg came to Union College which is in Schenectady, NY where Robin and Barry Lindenberg were living. Years later, Allison Lindenberg, would marry Rob Toll who had gone to University of Maryland.

Barry Lindenberg connection with Langs and Tolls

When Barry arrived in Schenectady he became friends with an internist, Richard Toll. Their sons, Dan and Mike, have been close friends since elementary school.

Irene Lindenberg, Robert Lang and Richard Toll were all born on February 3rd.

After they both completed law school, Robert Lang and his wife, Susan moved to Atlantic City. At the same time that Barry had become friends with Richard Toll, Susan and Richard’s brother, Jimmie, became associates.

Eric Lindenberg family connection with the Tolls

The story gets weirder. Allison Lindenberg and Jimmie Toll’s son Robbie attended different high schools in New Jersey. They met at “Junior Statesmen of America.” Years later, Robbie and his friends went to a restaurant in D.C. and Allison was their waitress. Their relationship began and they were married in 2014.

Alison and Allison in Westfield

In 2018 Rob and Allison (Lindenberg) Toll moved to Westfield, NJ where Alison (Alevy) and Scott Schreier were living. Coincidentally both Allison and Alison are currently dropping off their children at the same JCC!
